Dr. Kathy McKnight, Director, Program Evaluation, Pearson Learning Teams Dr. Kathy McKnight, Ph.D., received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a minor in Program Evaluation and Research Methodology from the University of Arizona. She has conducted program evaluations for 20 years for a wide variety of programs and organizations. Her interest in education evaluation and policy stems from her experience evaluating school reform Action Plans submitted to State Department of Education. Kathy has been involved in program evaluation in the field of education in a variety of domains, including but not limited to school reform policy and programs, and the training of School Change Facilitators in California high schools. Kathy is a teacher herself, having taught music in her previous career as a classical guitarist, and undergraduate and graduate statistics, research methods and other psychology courses. She taught at the University of Arizona until May 2005, after which she and her family moved to the D.C. area where she now teaches graduate statistics at George Mason University. Besides her applied work as an evaluator and professor, she contributes to the field of program evaluation and research methods by publishing peer-reviewed articles, presenting papers at scientific conferences and has co-authored a book about methods for handling missing data. Kathy leads the design and implementation of our research-based planning services for school districts, and directs the ongoing data collection and analysis of our Pearson Learning Teams work. |
