Beth Wray

Beth Wray, M.S., President, Pearson Learning Teams

Beth Wray began her career as a teacher in the Chicago area after earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Northwestern University and a Master of Science Degree in Learning Disabilities from Purdue University. She taught at the elementary and college levels in Special Education for 10 years before entering the publishing industry. She has held various positions within the educational publishing industry, including Sales Representative, Consultant, District Manager, Reading Marketing Manager, Science Editorial Manager, National Sales Manager and Vice President, Sales and Marketing.

Beth has held a number of leadership positions during her tenure at Pearson, including President of Globe Fearon, the secondary supplemental and special needs publisher; CEO of Computer Curriculum Corporation, Pearson's curriculum technology company; President of Pearson Learning Group, the Pearson K-12 supplemental publishing company; and President of Pearson Education's Supplemental and Professional Development Group, which included Pearson's educator professional development company in addition to Pearson Learning Group and Pearson Digital Learning.

Beth is currently President of Pearson Learning Teams in the Teacher Education & Development Group. This new business at Pearson focuses on delivering to schools and districts customized solutions for school improvement, including comprehensive teacher professional development aligned with assessment and instructional programs. Pearson Teacher Education & Development works with all Pearson School Companies to offer districts and states instructional solutions built around customized implementations and professional development. This includes customizing teacher and implementation materials that support existing Pearson programs as well as designing and implementing instructional improvement services to go along with existing programs used in a district.

Beth was recognized in 2000 as a Top Woman in Industry in New Jersey, and has served as a trustee on the board of the National Teachers Hall of Fame and the board of "Yes I Can" Foundation of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC). Beth and her husband, Gary, an engineering consultant and avid private pilot, reside in Los Angeles, California.
