LT Learning Teams Overview
Learning Teams provides direct and ongoing assistance to schools seeking to improve teaching, learning, and achievement. The Learning Teams Model includes five elements, all of which are well grounded in school effectiveness research, and contribute to improved teaching and learning:
- Goals that are set and shared
- Indicators that measure success
- Assistance from capable others
- Leadership that supports and pressures
- Settings that allow staff to get important instructional work done
Built around this framework, the LT model helps schools and districts stabilize settings and focus on instruction, thus building the capacity of the schools and districts to grow and distribute their leadership and weather the changes inherent in all schools.
Implementation Model
Achievement Solutions provides a training model and ongoing assistance to all Learning Teams schools. Implementation begins with an Introductory Presentation, followed by a Leadership Institute at the beginning of each LT implementation cycle. An Administrative Workgroup—the professional learning community for LT administrators—helps members successfully incorporate LT into their schools and districts. School Site Services provide ongoing support to all levels of implementation at the school site, while a Follow-Up Institute shares findings and feedback from all work completed by the implementation team since the Leadership Institute.
